An Iowa State wrestler has reportedly been arrested on drug charges following a run-in with the law over the weekend.
According to jail records, 19-year-old Garrett Grice was arrested early Sunday on one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one count of Drug Possession of Controlled Substance.
Grice is entering his first season at Iowa State after transferring in from Virginia, where he redshirted his freshman year. Due to NCAA rules, he was able to compete on “five countable dates” and still maintain his eligibility, according to the Iowa State athletics website.
Grice was previously a four-time state champion wrestler at Bellevue East High School in the Omaha, Nebraska area. He was voted a 2021 Junior All-American and 2019 Cadet All-American, per his bio.
