Authorities have arrested a man following an investigation into a September shooting in west Ames.
Per a press release, 28-year-old Vashawn Kejoun Green has been charged with the following crimes, in connection with the incident:
- Attempted Murder, a class “B” felony
- Dominion/Control of Firearm/Offensive Weapon by a Felon, a class “D” felony
According to Ames Police Commander Dan Walter, authorities responded to the 3800 block of Tripp Street at approximately 9:04 p.m. on Thursday, September 21 on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived at the scene and located a male who was injured from a gunshot.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Story County Jail records indicate Green was booked on Wednesday and has yet to be assigned a bond amount.
