An Ames man has been arrested and charged with a felony count of armed robbery following a month-long investigation by police.
According to Ames Police Sergeant Amber Christian, 22-year-old Domoh Deng Domoh has been arrested and charged with First-Degree Robbery, a class “B” felony.
On November 17, the Ames Police Department announced an investigation into an early morning armed robbery that took place at the Kum & Go store located at 4510 Mortensen Road.
According to a press release, the suspect was described to officers by the clerk as a large black male, standing approximately six feet tall. The man, now identified as Domoh, is said to have been wearing a black coat, white shoes, a face covering, and a large cross necklace. Domoh reportedly pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. He then fled on foot, running northbound from the store.
Christian told StoryCounty.News that police were given information pertinent to the investigation via the Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa tipline. She added that officers located and arrested Domoh without incident Friday evening in the Campustown area of Ames.
He is being held at the Story County Jail in Nevada on a $50,000 bond.
