A male motorcyclist is reportedly in critical condition after an accident that occurred in Ames on Tuesday.
Ames Police Sergeant Joel Congdon told StoryCounty.News on Thursday that the victim, whose name is currently being withheld, was considered to have been in “critical but stable” condition as of Wednesday night. He is currently being treated at a Des Moines hospital.
The motorcycle versus car accident, which occurred near Menards in Ames, was initially reported to the Ames Police Department at 6:03 p.m. Tuesday. Sergeant Amber Christian stated Tuesday night that the motorcyclist had been driving in the 700 block of Southeast 16th Street when a vehicle pulled out from the Menards parking lot, striking the motorcycle.
Christian stated that the injured male motorcyclist was initially transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted the Ames Police Department with the accident investigation.
