Nevada man arrested after barricading himself inside apartment

A Nevada man was taken into custody Thursday evening after he reportedly barricaded himself inside his home.

According to Story County Sheriff’s Office Captain Nicholas Lennie, “a significant police presence” responded to the 200 block of West N Avenue Thursday evening. Lennie told StoryCounty.News that police were “dealing with a barricaded subject on an arrest warrant” and that there was no threat to the general public.

As of 9:16 p.m., the scene was still “active”, according to Lennie, and authorities were attempting to “bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion.”

By 10:41 p.m., law enforcement had completed negotiations with the subject, who was taken into custody. He is identified as 38-year-old Kevin Michael Donahue II of Nevada. Donahue was arrested on a “violation of probation warrant”, per Lennie.

There were no injuries reported due to the incident.

Jail records confirm Donahue has been charged with one count of Failure to Appear, a serious misdemeanor, which is in connection to a previous charge of First-Degree Harassment. He is being held at the Story County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
