Police conduct west Ames search warrants as part of ongoing investigation

Authorities conducted multiple search warrants in west Ames on Wednesday afternoon as part of what the Ames Police Department is calling “an ongoing investigation.”

According to a press release, investigators conducted two separate search warrants in the 5300 block of Mortensen Road at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The release stated that the warrants “were part of an ongoing investigation and do not present any ongoing threat to the public.”

The Story County Sheriff’s Office assisted Ames PD on the scene. Both agencies utilized their Emergency Response Teams to carry out the search warrants, the press release noted.

A spokesperson for Ames PD was not immediately available for comment.
